Dr. Michael Ammons

Dr. Michael Ammons provides multiple services in one location, With a focus on Dental Implant and Cosmetic as well as Comprehensive Dentistry Focus. In addition, he has lectured at Augusta Dental Society, local study clubs, Charleston CEREC study club, and most recently started the Charleston Implant Institute! He is working on a publication in Dental Economics and Dentistry.
Education
- Magna Cum Laude from Clemson University (Go Tigers!) with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering
- Doctorate from the prestigious Medical University of South Carolina School of Dental Medicine
- Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia focusing on Surgical Placement and Restoration of Dental Implants.
- 1 Year AEGD Residency
- Completes an average of 200 CE (continued education) hrs a year

His proudest accomplishment is his beautiful family. Dr. Ammons and his wife, Melisse, have four boys – twins, Jeremiah and Elliot, Gideon, and Jude Sawyer.

Education

Played on the Varsity soccer team and was an active member of the Theta Chi fraternity. - Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (DDS), University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry
Since graduation, Dr. Thomas has invested time in continuing education with a focus on occlusion, oral surgery, and dental implants. He remains firmly committed to expanding his knowledge of dentistry and is currently taking classes at the Kois Center, the only continuing education program in the country conducting and publishing independent research.
Dr. Thomas was recognized as a 2019 and 2020 Top Dentist in Hour Detroit Magazine.

Dr. Thomas currently resides in Royal Oak and enjoys spending time with his friends and family. In his spare time, you can find him trying local Detroit restaurants and breweries, as well as playing competitive sports and enjoying outdoor activities like kayaking and mountain biking.
